The ideaAn instrument for looking outward.
Mountain Observatory is conceived as a vertical pause in a long walking route. A compact concrete volume rises from an imagined ridge in the Alborz mountains. Its modest footprint preserves the continuity of the ground while an ascending stair offers a succession of framed views.
The route begins in a sheltered room at the base, passes through narrow openings in the tower and ends on an open platform. Each level changes the relationship between the visitor and the horizon. The project studies how a small built intervention can make the scale of a landscape more perceptible.
