Folded Library

A landscape of rooms beneath one roof.

Folded Library brings a reading room and a neighborhood garden into a single spatial sequence. A terracotta roof rises and falls above a simple rectangular plan, gathering quieter study spaces beneath its lower edges and shared reading halls beneath the peaks.

The folds are oriented to bring soft daylight into the building while keeping direct sunlight away from the collections. Bookshelves define intimate rooms without interrupting views across the garden. Along the street, a covered veranda extends the library beyond its enclosed rooms and offers a place to meet, read or simply pause.
