The ideaA circular walk around an open sky.
Courtyard Museum imagines a cultural building with no single front. A ring of travertine galleries encloses a public court and a shallow reflecting pool. Visitors move between the concentrated atmosphere of the exhibition rooms and the changing light of the garden at their center.
The circular arrangement allows each gallery to be visited independently or as part of a continuous route. Four openings connect the court to the surrounding streets, making the museum a passage through the city. A shaded colonnade creates a common ground for art, conversation and the ordinary rituals of public life.
